APRIL 2-4
ONLINE HACKATHON

About
The crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, is making society think outside the box. In these critical moments, bringing solutions for our biggest challenge right now, is crucial to move on and not let fear take over us. As a community, we must work together to bring such solutions and solve the current crisis.
We welcome everyone to join us and Hack the Crisis together!
Hack the Crisis Kosova is an online hackathon organized by the Innovation Centre Kosovo, researchers, institutions, private sectors, startups and tech enthusiasts.
The hackathon focuses on creating new solutions for individuals, communities and businesses struggling with the problems caused by the outbreak of the virus.
This is a call to action to each and every one to participate in the fight and it is inspired by Estonia, who started the movement, and by Hack for Crisis Finland.

There is no us and them.
In this critical moment, our task is to work together as a nation to solve some of the biggest crises of our lifetime.
Save lives • Save communities • Save businesses
We welcome everyone to join us. Let’s hack the Crisis Together!
Challenge Categories
Health and Emergency
Almost never before had it been more important to come up with many different and effective ways to provide health-care and be responsive in emergency crises as now. To match up to the needs of your community, creative alternate ideas and solutions are in demand. Boost positive health implications such as hygienic awareness, practicing proper habits to keep a good immune system and unlock new ways for people to become more informed about their own health!
Social and Psychological Status
While it is imperative for people to become medically aware, the psychological aspect is unfortunately too often ignored. In this category, you must find ways to help people practice mental hygiene, creative coping methods in unfavorable circumstances for people of all sorts of conditions (mental, physical, environmental), functionalize lost time indoors, increase communication, harness support systems, etc. Social distancing plays an important role on self-identity and a qualitative life; in what other ways can people connect and maintains healthy mental states and relationships?
Education and Learning
Due to the majority of education facilities closing to prevent spread, educators have turned to using alternative methods to bring knowledge to students and keep them growing with assignments and exercises. While it is an admirable effort, like many quick solutions, it retains some flaws. Here you are to find new ways for people to access quality learning sessions that draw the most rewarding aspects of distant learning, engage in the source of the subject learned individually, increase research skills, interact with other thoughts and opinions that set a wider range of information brought to the work desk, etc. How would you tackle this issue? What would you add to the work table?
Economy and the Future of Business
The introduction of the virus to society has grown to become a global issue in more ways than one. Other than the threat it has exposed to people’s health, it has also caused many job losses, action plan postponements, supply and demand disruption as well as a stagnation on the economic flow globally. Both public and private businesses are predicted to face challenges in the coming weeks affecting the ecosystem and lifestyle outcomes of many people. What are some ways we can avoid such destructive developments and what ideas can we come up with to keep economy flowing and ensure businesses a successful future?
Government Solutions
In the aftermath of the global changes occurring due to the precautions taken in this time of worldwide pandemic turmoil, governmental issues still continue to function like an autoimmune system in every country. The quality with which it functions is constantly threatened by the daily changes each governing body has to make to assure the decrease of viral spread whether it be through policies in travel, trade, management, tax reforms, mortgage and loans, bills and many more topics that have an affect on the long-term lives of the citizen. What kind of solutions would you come up with? What concepts can you propose and implement to make positive changes for the good of the governing bodies, community and their overall future?
Invent Your Own Challenge
There are many issues to pick from when it comes to eliminating world problems, so much so that we can’t quantify and pin them all here! Is there any particular issue you’re passionate about and cannot seem to find in our selectable categories? Do you often contemplate an important issue that is always overlooked and want to come up with ways to amend it? Invent your own challenge, instead! Form your own category with a relevant theme that is a current issue and chart ideas on how to help promote awareness and solve it!
